Spring Training …..

I’m off today to see my St. Louis Cardinals play some spring training games in sunny south Florida and I’m super excited about it !!   Love the idea that spring is the start of new beginnings and growth.  I think we all should have our own kind of spring training to get ready for the rest of the year.

  • It can involve cleaning (we are all used to the big spring cleaning ritual) – do more than usual and clear out all the cobwebs – give your home or office that new fresh clean smell and look. I normally hate cleaning but it does feel good to get it all done and know you don’t have to do again for a while.   Here is a link to checklist from the queen of home Martha Stewart that covers pretty much everything.    http://images.marthastewart.com/images/content/web/pdfs/2007Q2/la_0407_spring_cleaning.pdf
  • It also means organizing at work or at home  — get rid of the stuff you don’t need or wear and simply the things around you.   Go through all your files and papers and organize – remove the ones that you don’t need to look at everyday and store them.    Take the time to make your office or workspace clean and functional …it will save you time in the long run.  Here are some quick organizing tips from one of my favorite magazine Real Simple https://www.realsimple.com/home-organizing/organizing/more-rooms/organized-home-00000000013879/index.html
  • It can mean trying something new (in baseball, new players, new teams) like a new hobby or meeting new people or at work it can mean trying to do things differently than has been done before.   I love this link it cracks me up but it’s true  – it’s how to find a new hobby.   https://www.wikihow.com/Find-a-Hobby
  • Try to be nicer and more thoughtful and do things for the people in your life that mean something to them vs benefit you.

Spring is a great time to start new and fresh in a lot of areas.   Look at the world differently … do things more efficiently so you have time to stop and smell the flowers.
